Olimpico Universitario, Mexico
The Estadio Olímpico Universitario, located within the campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City, is a historic landmark of modern Mexican architecture.
Inaugurated in 1952, it was designed by architects Augusto Pérez Palacios, Jorge Bravo, and Raúl Salinas, with murals by Diego Rivera.
Built using volcanic rock from the surrounding terrain, the stadium seamlessly integrates with the landscape, reflecting pre-Hispanic influences and national identity.
With a capacity of over 70,000 spectators, it was the main venue for the 1968 Olympic Games. Today, it is home to the Pumas UNAM football team and remains a cultural and sports icon in Mexico.
